One last note

Today was a big day.  We left from Custer, SD and drove into the Bighorn Mountains. We stopped midway for a picnic and to enjoy the view and new landscape.

The first really tall mountains on the trip. The highest pass was at 9960 ft

Along the 50 mile trip from Cody, WY to our lodge at the edge of Yellowstone, Kimmie asked for us to stop at a pull off where there was a geological formation of interest.  Before we could stop the car.  ,she was squealing with excitement.  She jumped out of the car, and before we knew it, she was literally crying with joy over the rocks in front of us.

When I say crying, I really mean crying...tears.

We spent about 20 minutes looking at volcanic rock stuck in sedimentary rock like chocolate chips in a cookie.  Needless to say, it was very exciting for one of us.  But, I can't talk.   I've almost run the car off the road looking at a plant.
